Conspiracy and some office drama

I’ve been SO busy with work :’(

On the downside-but-really-upside, I’ve been plagued with a series of HTML emails that need to be cleaned up and revised. It’s very stressful since I have no idea what I’m doing but it’s good  training. It’s something I’ll probably like to freelance later on anyway. I’m just whining.

Semi-slave has been rather crabby lately. For over a week, she has been communicating (whining/ranting) via email. I hope she gets laid soon, her aura (hihi) is so hostile and unkind.

I worry that she has uncovered my plot with Geeky Editor. He and I are organising a pipeline of resignations. We don’t hate the company, we just think it’s time to move on. Hm actually not too sure about him, he’s been cackling about subversive strategies lately. I’m just tired of the exploitative nature of this business, the guilt-tripping of employees to work long hours and OT generally means “Oh…Thank you!” but anyway there’s no need to resign all at the same time. Besides someone has to stay behind to gleefully report the goings-on to the others. And although BFD deserves it, I wouldn’t want to give the other boss (the nicer one) a heart attack, I think he’s hypertensive and anyway he’s newly married, the poor tubby thing. I spoke to Slacker Boy about the plan and he’s totally cool with it, he feels he’s going to get fired soon anyway. I’ve been copying him in “important” management emails lately to make him feel more involved. But to be fair, he does play a fair amount of online poker at work. That’s okay with me cos he taught me how and now I’M hooked, but I only play with play money at the moment. We both agree he has a gambling problem.

I’ve realised that SB isn’t that lazy, if you give him a set of tasks to do, he will get them done. But he won’t take the initiative and step in to take charge which is what BFD wants…and that pisses the bosses (mostly BFD) and Semi-Slave off. SB and SS are still at war due to a previous dramatic episode regarding his schedule/input at work. SS works round the clock and she resents the fact that SB and I don’t feel the need to. It’s her choice though, isn’t it? Anyway it’s not as if she does a very good job — most of the time, she panics everyone and they screw up because she takes on too much work anyway.

So the plan is being set in place. Suspected Mentally Ill girl has caught wind of it and wants to come on board saying to sign her up for January. Apparently, she’s finally done being a doormat and has long since stopped expecting the pat on the back for a job well done that she was bawling about two months ago in the stairwell.

In the meantime, I should just keep my head down and do the work.

My company is a joke. It’s the most hilarious work environment I’ve ever been in.
